Maternal Gut Microbiome Study of Diet, the Gut Microbiome and Preterm Birth
While dietary guidelines about intake of specific nutrients in pregnant women are well-established, surprisingly little is known about dietary eating patterns or nutritional risk factors for spontaneous preterm birth. In this study, researchers will collect 3 dietary recalls, a stool sample, maternal blood in pregnancy and delivery, and delivery specimens to compare the gut microbiome of 400 women who deliver prematurely to women who deliver at term.
